Geography

Geography

Curriculum intent

At  Selwyn, the Geography curriculum is designed to equip pupils with the knowledge, skills and curiosity to explore and understand the wonder and challenges of our changing world. We aim for our pupils to think like geographers – developing their resilience to think analytically about the interconnectedness of human and physical processes that characterise places locally and around the world. The curriculum requires the pupils to draw connections between the places they have learnt about and cultivates respect for, and understanding of, the rich diversity of our planet – its cultures, landscapes and habitats. Lessons are designed to be interactive and explorative, activating our pupils ambition and desire to learn more about the planet we live in and how it has changed over time. Ultimately, we aim for the Geography curriculum to enable our pupils to think meaningfully and independently about the people and places around them.
