Cultural Diversity Day

Cultural Diversity Day was an absolute blast for students, parents and staff. During the day, pupils were able to learn about the diverse cultures that they are learning about in their Geography lessons. In addition to this, pupils were treated to a picnic with their parents, with food and entertainment that represented a range of cultures from around the world.
Violin Club

We are very proud of the children that attend our Violin Club every week at 8am. They have been working very hard on their performance and had the opportunity to showcase their playing at the ‘Lister Community School Concert’.

Get Creative is Selwyn’s internal DT competition where students were required to build their own Robots. It was judged on the following; visual impact, originality, technique and creative use of materials. We had some fabulous entries and have chosen four winners!
Hope is a Hidden Star – our Christmas song
January 2024
For our Winter Parent Assemblies, the KS2 children sang a song titled ‘Hope is a hidden star’. They did such a good job in each of their assemblies, that we decided to bring all of the KS2 children together to record their performance.
Selwyn poet reaches international audience

Kimberley worked with our Mandarin teachers to share her poem My Shades of the Rainbow with fellow students in China – well done Kimberley for this fine performance!

Our children entered a poetry competition, with the result that their poems have been published! We are so proud of them.
Toxic Waste
January 2024
The children in 3D composed a piece of music about the colour green and toxic waste as part of a project with the English National Opera. It was chosen to be made into an animation as the ENO were so impressed with the children’s work.
