Year 7 Admissions

Year 7 Admissions

At Selwyn Primary School, we are committed to ensuring every child is confident and ready for their next step in education. Transitioning to Year 7 is an exciting milestone, and we work closely with families to make the move from primary to secondary school as smooth and positive as possible.

As part of Newham Community Learning (NCL), Selwyn Primary belongs to a family of schools that includes four secondary schools in Newham. Many of our pupils continue their learning within this trust, but families are free to choose from a wide range of local schools.

How to Apply for a Year 7 Place

  • If you live in Newham – Apply via LB Newham Pupil Services.
  • If you live outside Newham – Apply via your home borough and list your chosen Newham secondary schools as preferences.

Applications are made through the eAdmissions website. Guidance for setting up an account and completing the application can be found on the borough’s website.

Key Dates for Secondary Transfer – September 2026 Entry

  • National closing date for Year 7 applications: Friday 31 October 2025 at 23:59
  • National offer date for Year 7 places: Monday 02 March 2026

At Selwyn, we are here to support you and your child every step of the way.
