Year 7 Admissions

Year 7 Admissions

At Selwyn Primary School, we are committed to ensuring every child is well prepared for the transition to secondary school. Moving on to Year 7 is an exciting step in your child’s educational journey, and we work closely with families to make this process as smooth as possible.

Selwyn Primary School is part of Newham Community Learning, a local Trust of schools with four secondary schools.

If you live in Newham, you must apply through LB Newham Pupil Services.
If you live outside Newham and would like your child to attend a Newham secondary school, you should apply via your home borough and list your preferred Newham school(s) as a choice.

Key Dates for Secondary Transfer – September 2026 Entry

  • National closing date for Year 7 applications: Friday 31 October 2025 at 23:59

  • National offer date for Year 7 places: Monday 02 March 2026

Applications are made through the eAdmissions website. Guidance for setting up an account and completing the application can be found on the borough’s website.

Newham’s consultation regarding school admission arrangements for September 2026 admissions can be found on this page of the Newham website.  A copy of the full consultation document can be found here.
